You left my house,
locked my lock,
set me key underneath a rock,
and drove away.
With no goodbye,
no parting note...
just one cold stone
like my hardened heart
meant to be alone
and hide away what lets you inside.
Well down into the earth with the pleasure and the pain
cover it with dirt like a seed in need of rain
Put it in the Earth's all that I can do
I gotta bury you.
With our last cork
Woodford Reserve
the presents don't last
and in the past they hurt;
one and the same, now they're one and the same.
Because the dishes don't need washing,
the bed's always half-made,
there's nothing in the laundry
I need less day
What to do...
Down into the earth with the pleasure and the pain
cover it with dirt like a seed in need of rain
Put it in the Earth's all that I can do
I gotta bury you.
I see you standing by the side of the road
looking for somewhere to go far away from me
I see you standing by the side of the road
but you'll never know what you did to me.
So down into the earth with the pleasure and the pain
cover it with dirt like a seed in need of rain
Put it in the Earth's all that I can do
I gotta bury you.
Down into the earth though the love had set me free
cover it with dirt now it's dead to me
I gotta bury you.
All I need to know
Mother, Daughter and Holy Ghost
tell me I can change.

This album is an absolute classic and the price is unbeatable for high quality listening. I wish more of Derek’s work was accessible through bandcamp, mainly Taking Up Your Precious Time. I’d love to see that pressed on CD or Vinyl at some point. Anyway, A Color Map of the Sun is well worth the $0.50. I highly recommend that you add it to your collection today!!! D-Mac
