She cries each time I see her
wants to know how much I need her
it's not enough to know that I'm in love
No smile for me to forget
left my heart out on her doorstep
I need to need someone.
As I emptied my pockets
she left me with my thoughts.
Back to her same
bottle of pills
to finally take hers off.
I am never jealous.
She is always concerned.
Over a flame
rose petals burn
all the same.
I've got a girl
all wrapped up in misery
she's stuck on me,
at least that's all it seems to be.
She calls it love,
but I don't know what it means to me.
Feels more like a love song
out of tune.
Some time after I departed,
that's when I lost my nerve.
Feeling that strange
need to be blamed,
I returned.
I've got a girl
all wrapped up in misery.
She's stuck on me,
at least that's all it seems to be.
She calls it love,
but I don't know what it means to me.
Feels more like a love song
out of tune.

This album is an absolute classic and the price is unbeatable for high quality listening. I wish more of Derek’s work was accessible through bandcamp, mainly Taking Up Your Precious Time. I’d love to see that pressed on CD or Vinyl at some point. Anyway, A Color Map of the Sun is well worth the $0.50. I highly recommend that you add it to your collection today!!! D-Mac
